At N2SEC, we uphold the highest level of trust, integrity, and reliability in every engagement. Our founder holds active Government of Canada security clearances valid through 2028, including NATO Secret, Enhanced Secret (Level II), and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) certifications.
We are proud to be led by Lisa Kearney, a globally recognized cybersecurity executive with over 25 years of leadership in the industry. Lisa was named one of the Top 5 Most Inspiring Women in Cybersecurity by Clario, recognizing her commitment to equity, education, and impactful leadership in cybersecurity.
Lisa Kearney, founder of N2SEC, is widely recognized as a leading voice in Canada’s cybersecurity landscape, with national news coverage and expert commentary featured in prominent media outlets. She was recently quoted in The Hill Times article, Enemy Within: Covert Cyber and Intelligence Threats to Canada, where she discussed internal vulnerabilities and growing national security concerns. She also contributed expert insight to another Hill Times feature, Is Canada Prepared for Advanced Cyberattacks?, outlining the gaps in critical infrastructure protection and emergency readiness.
The NATO Secret clearance authorizes access to classified information under the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for specific contracts. This clearance is essential for international projects requiring secure handling of NATO information by qualified personnel and organizations. The Enhanced Secret (Level II) clearance enables access to highly sensitive government data, including material that, if compromised, could cause serious injury to national interests, public safety, or government operations. Additionally, through the Controlled Goods Program, we are certified to examine, possess, and transfer controlled goods and technologies regulated by Canadian defence laws. These credentials underscore N2SEC’s trusted position in supporting secure operations across public sector, defence, and international cybersecurity environments.
As the founder of the Women CyberSecurity Society (WCS2), Lisa has led the organization to national prominence. WCS2 was named one of Canada’s Top 5 Nonprofits for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as highlighted by CharityVillage, and is listed among the Top 50 Women in Cybersecurity Associations and Groups to Follow by Cybercrime Magazine, demonstrating the global impact of her work.
Lisa also founded International Women in Cyber Day (IWCD), officially recognized and celebrated annually on September 1st across cities and provinces in Canada. This growing global initiative celebrates and advances women’s contributions in cybersecurity and fosters a more inclusive industry.
N2SEC is also a proud member of Buy Canadian Cyber, a national initiative supporting Canadian-owned and operated cybersecurity businesses. This membership reflects our commitment to strengthening Canada's digital economy, national resilience, and sovereign cyber capabilities.
Together, these awards, recognitions, and affiliations reinforce N2SEC’s reputation as a trusted, Canadian-based cybersecurity firm driven by excellence, integrity, and inclusive innovation.
Lisa’s leadership and advocacy for gender equity in tech were profiled in Atlantic Business Magazine's feature, Women Are Stepping Up to the Front Lines of Cybersecurity in Increasing Numbers, which highlighted her work in building inclusive pathways through the Women CyberSecurity Society.
Following a major Microsoft cloud outage, The Globe and Mail included Lisa’s expert analysis in their coverage, Microsoft Tech Outage Hits Banks, Airlines, and Other Businesses, where she addressed the risks of dependency on single-provider infrastructure and its national implications.
Through these media appearances and thought leadership contributions, Lisa Kearney continues to shape Canada’s cybersecurity conversation and reinforce N2SEC’s role as a trusted authority in national digital resilience and policy dialogue.uture and has contributed to IT World Canada on advancing gender equity in the tech sector through initiatives like International Women in Cyber Day.
